BBL (Brazilian Butt Lift)

BBL uses your own fat — harvested by liposuction from one area and injected into the buttocks — for a natural-feeling result with no foreign material. Butt implants use silicone implants. BBL also offers the dual benefit of slimming donor areas. Most surgeons prefer BBL when sufficient donor fat is available.

You should avoid direct pressure on the buttocks for 2–4 weeks. A BBL pillow is used when sitting (placing pressure on the thighs, not the buttocks). Most patients can resume desk work within 2 weeks using a BBL pillow. Strenuous exercise is avoided for 6–8 weeks.

Approximately 60–80% of transferred fat cells survive long-term when proper technique is used. The survival rate depends on injection technique, post-operative pressure avoidance, and patient health. Results are permanent once the fat has integrated at 3–6 months.

BBL has a higher complication rate than many procedures when performed incorrectly. At FitAndFit Clinic, we follow the ASERF safety guidelines — injecting fat only into the subcutaneous layer (never into the gluteal muscle) to eliminate the risk of fat embolism. Patient selection, surgeon experience, and technique are critical to safety.
