Rhinoplasty in Turkey
Rhinoplasty, also known as nose reshaping surgery, is a surgical procedure designed to improve the shape, size and proportions of the nose. When medically appropriate, it may also address structural problems that affect breathing.
Fit&Fit Health Journey coordinates the surgeon assessment, hospital arrangements, accommodation, transfers and postoperative follow-up for international patients considering rhinoplasty in İzmir, Turkey.
The aim is to create a natural-looking nose that is balanced with the patient’s facial features while preserving or improving nasal function.
What Can Rhinoplasty Improve?
Rhinoplasty may be considered for the following concerns:
- A prominent or uneven nasal bridge
- A wide, drooping or asymmetrical nasal tip
- Nostrils that appear wide or uneven
- A nose that is disproportionate to the face
- Nasal asymmetry caused by injury or previous surgery
- Structural problems that may affect breathing
When breathing problems are related to a deviated septum or another structural condition, rhinoplasty may be combined with functional nasal surgery. The appropriate procedure is determined after a detailed medical examination.
Who May Be Suitable for Rhinoplasty?
Rhinoplasty may be suitable for individuals whose facial growth is complete, who are in good general health and who have realistic expectations about the outcome.
Nasal anatomy, skin thickness, breathing function, medical history, previous nasal procedures and aesthetic expectations are evaluated together. Final eligibility is determined by the treating surgeon and anaesthesia team.
Your Rhinoplasty Journey with Fit&Fit
1. Online Preliminary Assessment
The patient shares recent photographs of the nose from different angles, medical history, current medications, previous nasal procedures and aesthetic expectations with the Fit&Fit patient coordinator.
Any breathing difficulties, previous nasal injuries or functional concerns should also be reported. This information is securely forwarded to the relevant doctor for an initial assessment.
2. Personalised Treatment Plan
The surgeon evaluates the shape of the nose, facial proportions, skin characteristics and breathing function. A preliminary plan is prepared covering the proposed surgical approach, hospital arrangements and expected recovery.
The final treatment plan is confirmed following an in-person examination in İzmir.
3. Travel and Accommodation Planning
Once the treatment date is confirmed, accommodation, airport–hotel–hospital transfers and follow-up appointments are arranged. The required length of stay in Turkey is planned according to the surgeon’s recommendation.
4. Preoperative Examination
After arriving in İzmir, the patient attends an in-person consultation and completes the required medical tests. The surgeon examines both the external structure of the nose and the internal nasal airway.
The surgical technique, expected changes, limitations, recovery process and potential risks are explained before the operation.
5. Rhinoplasty Surgery
Rhinoplasty is usually performed under general anaesthesia. Depending on the patient’s anatomy and treatment requirements, the procedure may be performed using an open or closed surgical approach.
The surgeon may reshape the nasal bones and cartilage, refine the nasal tip or correct structural problems affecting the septum. The technique and duration of surgery vary according to the personalised treatment plan.
6. Postoperative Care
A protective splint is generally placed over the nose after surgery. Internal splints or nasal packing may also be used when necessary.
Swelling, bruising around the eyes, nasal congestion and temporary changes in sensation may occur during the early recovery period. Personalised instructions are provided regarding medication, nasal care, sleeping position and daily activities.
Return travel should only be planned after the postoperative examination and the surgeon’s medical approval.
Rhinoplasty Recovery
Swelling, bruising and nasal congestion are usually more noticeable during the first week. The external splint is commonly removed during a follow-up appointment, according to the surgeon’s instructions.
Many patients can return to social activities and non-physical work within approximately 10–14 days. Strenuous exercise, contact sports, heavy lifting and activities that may place pressure on the nose should be avoided until medically approved.
Initial swelling improves gradually, but the nose may continue to change as the tissues heal. It can take several months, and sometimes up to one year, for the final nasal contour to fully develop.
Possible Risks of Rhinoplasty
As with every surgical procedure, rhinoplasty may involve certain risks:
- Bleeding or infection
- Reaction to anaesthesia
- Temporary or persistent numbness
- Prolonged swelling or skin discolouration
- Difficulty breathing through the nose
- Nasal asymmetry or an unsatisfactory appearance
- Poor wound healing or visible scarring
- Rare nasal septal perforation
- The possibility of revision surgery
The surgeon will explain the potential risks relevant to the patient’s medical history, nasal anatomy and planned procedure before surgery.

Frequently Asked Questions
How long should I stay in Turkey after rhinoplasty?
The required length of stay depends on the procedure and the patient’s recovery. Return travel should be planned after the postoperative examination and the surgeon’s approval.
When is the nasal splint removed?
The splint is generally removed during the first postoperative follow-up. The exact timing depends on the surgical technique and the surgeon’s instructions.
When will I see the final result?
Initial changes become visible as swelling decreases. However, the final shape of the nose may take several months or up to one year to fully develop.
Can rhinoplasty improve breathing?
Rhinoplasty may be combined with functional nasal surgery when breathing difficulties are caused by structural problems. A detailed examination is required to determine the appropriate treatment.
Can I wear glasses after rhinoplasty?
Glasses may place pressure on the healing nasal bones. Patients should follow their surgeon’s instructions regarding when and how glasses can be worn after surgery.
How much does rhinoplasty in Turkey cost?
The cost depends on the surgical technique, complexity of the procedure, hospital services, accommodation period and whether functional correction or revision surgery is required. A personalised quotation is prepared following the doctor’s assessment.
