What Are Dental Veneers?
Dental veneers are wafer-thin ceramic or composite resin shells custom-fabricated and permanently bonded to the front surfaces of teeth. They mask a wide range of aesthetic imperfections — discolouration, chips, cracks, small gaps, minor misalignment, and uneven sizes — delivering a dramatically improved smile with minimal tooth preparation.
Types of Veneers at FitAndFit Clinic
- Porcelain (E.max) veneers: The gold standard. Ultra-thin (0.3–0.5 mm), highly translucent lithium disilicate ceramic that replicates the natural appearance of enamel. Stain-resistant, long-lasting (10–15 years), and biocompatible. Minimal tooth reduction required.
- Zirconia veneers: Slightly thicker and stronger than E.max; preferred when additional strength is required or for more heavily prepared teeth.
- Composite resin veneers: Applied chair-side in a single appointment — quicker and less expensive, but less durable (5–7 years) and more prone to staining. Suitable for temporary improvement or budget-sensitive cases.
- No-prep veneers (Lumineers): Ultra-thin veneers that require little to no enamel removal — suitable for minor aesthetic corrections. Not appropriate for heavily discoloured or misaligned teeth.
What Can Veneers Fix?

The Veneer Procedure
Porcelain veneer treatment requires a minimum of 2 appointments. At the first appointment, a minimal amount of enamel (0.3–0.5 mm) is removed, impressions or digital scans are taken, and temporary veneers are placed. The permanent porcelain veneers are fabricated by our in-house ceramists and bonded at the second visit. For international patients, the complete treatment is available within a 5–7 day stay in Istanbul.
